We cannot turn our backs on the people of Eastern Ghouta. Over the last several days, Syria’s Eastern Ghouta has become hell on earth. Around 400,000 people are trapped by their own government, with their hopes of safety just out of reach. “We are waiting our turn to die. This is the only thing I can say,” a man whose wife is pregnant with their first child told Reuters. Homes, schools, and streets are being bombed, often hourly. Access to food and medical care has been blocked. It’s a massacre. Gomaa: We urgently need funds to help stop the bloodshed and demand the safe evacuation of people trapped in Ghouta. The time is right now — this very moment. We must stand together and end this.
